Oxley Highway Assessment of Bridge Safety Barriers
Carried out a safety review on the bridge barriers of 22 structures on HW11 Oxley Highway between Wauchope and Coonabarabran for Roads and Maritime Services. Reviewed all structures individually to assess their compliance to existing standards, desktop assessment of existing bridge rails and subsequently made a recommendation on whether or not the approach safety rails could be structurally connected to the bridges. A recommendation was made for each bridge with comments provided on the existing bridge barriers.
Developed concept options for each structure for an approach road safety rail connection with standardised solutions to ensure costs for the project were minimised. Provided detailed concepts included dimensioned sketches, quantities and relevant design standards.
